Personality: Hera is an energetic filly and always seems to be on the go. It is not uncommon to see her weaving at the stable door, and when tied she fidgets constantly. Basically, if you want her to be still you have got a problem. Beside this, her main vice seems to be the girth and she is known to nip when it is tightened. When it comes to work, this filly is eager. She loves to get out and stretch her legs and will push herself in even the most relaxed of works. When asked for something she just goes and doesn't seem to question her rider for even a moment. She's well known in the barn for her character. She loves to play and makes a game of everything. Water bucket? It's knocked over. Rug? She'll move and play with the groom rather than let it be put on and if she gets a chance she'll be out of that stable door in a moment and doing her best to evade capture. She's a constant challenge in this respect, but at least things are never boring with her around.
Leg Type: Preceder Hera seems to see the track as one big game. She loads fairly well, although seems fidgetty in the gates, and breaks somewhat sharply. During a race she will take a position behind the leaders and with a little guidance from her jockey will stay there. Although a little excitable, she will settle after a few furlongs and only makes her move as the field approaches the final turn. She will take the outside of any leaders, or cut through the group if there are a number ahead of her, to hit the lead (or toward the front of the group) as they come into the stretch. From here on it really is a game. She just doesn't give in as they take those final few furlongs, giving a real effort to prove herself on the track.
